The Fishtrap Restaurant evolved from 10 years of catering parties, weddings, Farm Bureau dinners plus Sunday buffets at the Bach Dancing and Dynamite Society. The business moved into the building now housing Flavor Restaurant.
In 1971, a complete kitchen was installed and that began a seafood and Mexican take-out with a sit-down dining room upstairs. Barbara leased Hazel's Restaurant in 1978, changing the name to Paul and Barbara's Fishtrap.
It was an immediate hit! Paul was the local harbormaster and after he died, it was renamed Barbara's Fishtrap.
Barbara is grateful to her customers for the ongoing success that helped her purchase the almost 100-year-old building that Barbara's Fishtrap calls home.
The Fishtrap success is attributed to our fresh fish, calamari, all our seafood, and our genuine desire to ensure that our customers are satisfied and happy.
